Given its interdisciplinary scope, the program in Comparative Human Development provides an excellent preparation for students interested in advanced postgraduate study at the frontiers of several social science disciplines, or in careers and professions that require a broad and integrated understanding of human experience and behavior–-e.g., mental health, education, social work, health care, research, or human resource and organizational work in community or corporate settings.
Here are some links that might give you ideas about some career tracks that Comparative Human Development students can follow. Please keep in mind that our program is unique among the Human Development programs found at other colleges and universities. While most of those concentrate on childhood development and family psychology, depending on the area of their concentration, our majors gain strong backgrounds in psychology, sociology, anthropology and psychobiology. Make sure to check out potential career options for future study in all of these departments at the links below.
